Jeffrey Woo
Introduction to the probability and statistical theory underlying the estimation of parameters and testing of statistical hypotheses, including those arising in the context of simple and multiple regression models. Students will use computers and statistical programs to analyze data. Examples and applications are drawn from economics, business, and other fields. Students will not receive credit for both STAT 2120 and ECON 3710. Prerequisite: MATH 1210 or equivalent; co-requisite: Concurrent enrollment in a discussion section of STAT 2120.
真的是神烦的一门课，但是又必须得上。分为lecture和lab两部分，作业奇多，而且项目多且繁杂，一周五个due，稍不留神就会少做一次作业。不过好在每种作业都有几次drop的机会，期末会有一点点extra points. lab有时会记attendence，由于这门课大量的ta和grader都是中国人，所以可以有问题多多跟学长学姐提问。由于这门课很大，教授不怎么回邮件。更重要的一点是教授说着一口新加坡英语！每次都觉得他说话有口痰在嘴里，上了两次lecture就再也没去过了。
with J. Woo: 统计入门课，部分知识在国内普高理科都会有cover过，总体来讲比较简单；考试占比相较而言不是很大，重点在平常的各种看视频预习，lab，作业assignment，只要能够理解好概念就没什么问题；考试的时候老师会很注重概念的精确掌握，但是A不是什么非常难的事情。
这节课很简单，easy A只是比较耗时间比较琐碎，要做的事情很多，lecture比较无聊，其实可以不用去，但是Jeff讲的很清晰，讲题能讲的很明白。会有很多人take这节课 互相carry吧～
"Difficulty 5, Hotness 5, Prof. Woo 是个很不错的老师。这门课会比较难，可是如果你常去上课的话，应该不会有太大的问题。这门课注重于了解，而不是死记硬背那种。"
with Jeffrey Woo: 这节课只能说是比较必要的课，教给你很多statistical analysis的技巧。难是不难，但要说真的有趣也比较牵强。
